Hello,
Just a quick post to say a big thank you to you all for your custom, friendship and support!
I’ve been meaning to put this up for a little while now, but just keep running out of time!
Thanks to you guys we’ve been able this year to donate some money to Surfers Against Sewage through our 1% for the Planet membership. We also took the opportunity to match the donation with the equivalent in product for them to either distribute or use as prizes etc. for more fund raising.
Together we can help make the UK shoreline and surrounding waters clean and usable.
So, thanks again.
Everyone @ Bio Nutrition
Protecting the environment is very important to us here at Bio Nutrition. It’s our view that everyone – individuals, companies, governments – should do as much as they can to reduce their impact on the world around them.
That’s why we formulated our Green Policy – to set down what we want to achieve and how we’re going to do it. We use it as our benchmark for everything that we do that may affect the world around us – whether that be sourcing raw materials for the products we market, or making sure that we don’t put too much water in the kettle when we make a cup of tea!
As part of our ongoing efforts to lessen our environmental impact, we’ve been busy over the last few months. All of our computer systems have been replaced with low energy alternatives, bringing the energy usage per machine down by about 65%, and we’ve also improved our “switch it off” policy so that it’s now second nature to everyone in the office to switch off anything that isn’t needed. This has enabled us to keep our daily electricity usage below 33 units – the level which the UK Government has set as being climatically significant.
Now, as a continuation of that process, we’ve changed our electricity supply to 100% renewable. Every unit of electricity that we use has been generated by renewable sources such as hydro, wind and solar power rather than fossil fuels. All-in-all, our carbon footprint is now much, much smaller than it has ever been before.
Our commitment to the environment is ongoing and we’ll be doing more in the months and years to come; we’ll keep you updated with how we get on.
Do you have any energy saving tips you’d like to share with other Bio Blog readers? Let us know by leaving a comment.
Sorry to start talking about this now, but with the festive season fast approaching I thought I would just do a quick post to let you all know that we’ve now added some new functionality to our website.
From today you will be able to buy the special people in your lives a Bio Nutrition ‘Gift Certificate‘! It can be for any amount you like from £5 (even £12.62 if you like!)
They can use the whole amount in one go, or the online system can keep a track of what is used and spread the amount over several orders. It really is up to them!
So, are you stuck for a gift idea but know the person uses supplements? Why not give them a Bio Nutrition Gift Certificate and give the gift of health?
Remember, we also donate 1% of our turnover to environmental causes, through the 1% For The Planet initiative.
Happy shopping

So here it is the Vantastical Blue Funky Bus!
Over the last few weeks we have been working hard to get this sorted – Hopefully it will be used for shows, exhibitions and general advertising, to spread the Bio Nuts word.
If on your travels, beep us and say hello

and finally to; The Blue Funky Bus:

Please do keep an eye out for us, at shows, exhibitions and on the road. I feel the beginnings of a competition coming on!
The next plan is to get her running efficiently on bio fuel; we’ll keep you informed.
For those of you that have read our Green Policy you will have noticed that for the past few weeks we’ve been in the process of signing up for ‘1% For The Planet‘.
Well, finally that’s all now finished. We can display their logos and also help promote the movement!

We’re proud to be a member of the 1% For The Planet movement, which is a scheme set up to bring much needed funding to environmental projects all around the world. Every member company commits to contributing 1% of their annual turnover to the scheme. 1% may not sound like a lot, but because it’s based on turnover not profit there’s a much bigger fund to start with. For instance, a company that turns over £1 million may only make £75,000 profit; if they paid 1% of profit, they’d contribute £750 – but 1% of turnover means a contribution of £10,000!
It also means that when you place an order with us, you know exactly how much we’ll be giving to 1% For The Planet! And the scheme is fully audited and closely scrutinised so you can be sure that whenever you see the 1% For The Planet logo, 1% of the company’s turnover is going directly to help environmental projects in the UK and all over the planet.
For the first few years at least we’ve decided to make our donations to UK based schemes, but after that we are open to suggestions.
So if you have a local environmental charity we could help by making donations to, let us know. Please take into account that they must be recognised by the 1% For The Planet organisation and be registered with them. If our experience is anything to go by this is a relatively easy and painless process and could be well worth their while!
So why not help the planet and keep yourself fit and healthy?
